District Amputee Care Center

We are an innovative prosthetic practice specializing in complicated
prosthetic cases.  Our prosthetist Brian Monroe, CPO is nationally recognized
as a clinical specialist in prosthetics.  He was born and raised in the
Washington, DC area.  Mr. Monroe attended the University of Maryland and
received his prosthetics and orthotics degree from Florida International
University.  He has lectured locally and nationally to amputee groups and
professionals including being an associate professor at Newington's Post
Graduate Prosthetic Program.  He has served as a national specialist for
difficult clinical cases and brings this knowledge and technology to the

Technology

We use the latest computer technology to fabricate a comfortable cosmetic
prosthesis.  A non-contact laser quickly and accurately takes a digital image
of the limb (no more messy plaster) and the patient takes an active role in
designing their prosthesis.  Most patients receive their new prosthesis within
